How to Install a ForteCast® Floor
A complete, beginner-friendly walkthrough of laying a seamless ForteCast® floor in a single day.

1. Prepare the substrate
The surface must be sound, dry and clean. Remove dust and grease, fill any major cracks, and make sure the floor is level. A solid base is the single biggest factor in a flawless finish.
2. Prime the floor
Apply an even coat of penetrating primer with a roller. This locks down dust and creates the mechanical key the binder bonds to. Allow it to become tacky before pouring.
3. Mix the aggregate and binder
Add part A and part B of the binder to your bucket, mix thoroughly, then add the aggregate. Use a forced-action paddle for 2-3 minutes until every marble chip is coated and glossy.
4. Pour and trowel
Tip the mixed ForteCast® onto the floor and spread it with a stainless steel trowel to your target depth. Work in manageable bays, keeping a wet edge so joints disappear.
5. Smooth and de-air
Smooth the surface with a clean float, lightly oiled to prevent sticking. A spiked roller releases trapped air and levels the grain for that signature seamless look.
6. Cure and seal
Leave the floor to cure for 12-24 hours before light foot traffic. For extra protection and colour depth, apply a coat of UV sealer once fully cured.
Pro tips
- Work in a comfortable temperature—15-25°C is ideal for curing.
- Always keep a wet edge to avoid visible joins.
- Order 5-10% extra aggregate for trickier shaped rooms.
